Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter Scares the Bejeezus Out of Me

Tim Burton is directing the new Alice in Wonderland. Of course, with it being Tim Burton, 2 things are guaranteed: a very dark, disturbing, twisted representation of reality, and Johnny Depp. I am a huge Depp Fan, stemming as far as a possible man crush, but something about the Carrottop-esque hair, powder white face, and gecko-green eyes hits my uneasy nerve.

Weird.

Ah well, I'll still see it.

Happy Star Wars Day!

It's a trap!May the 4th be with you!!!

I found out while at work today that today is Star Wars Day. Groovy. As mentioned in my previous post, I am an uber-nerd when it comes to Star Wars. I even attempted - stress on attempted - to build my own Boba Fett costume from cardboard, bondo and TLC once.

It took me a second to see why today of all days would be dubbed Star Wars Day, but once I saw the date, it made sense.

So once again, from one padawan to another, I say to you, happy Star Wars Day!

Going to see X-Men: Origins Tonight

With a bunch of classy, classy ladies.  And my friend Steve (we'll leave him out of this story, though).

I am excited for it, which is weird because I wasn't that excited for the other ones. I appreciate the X-Men comic series and movies, but I wasn't one who got all OMG THIS IS AWESOME!!!! over it. (Spoiler: Plus they killed Professor X, how could they do that?!) But this one hit the "This movie is going to be awesome" bone in my body. Perhaps it's because Wolverine is my favorite X-Men character. Perhaps the sexiness that is Hugh Jackman has some mysterious, unknown power to make me want... no, need the movie. I don't know. Either way, it's going to be a flipping awesome movie.

Plus the whole classy lady thing helps. Raises my street cred.

Another movie I'm surprisingly surprised for? Star Trek. I am not a trekky fan in the least. Being a huge Star Wars fan, I am legally allowed not to be. But the new one, directed by J.J. Abrams, looks and from review scores sounds flippin' sweet. I just like how it looks so... different from the other ones. Not the cheese factor. Just straight-up-in-your-face-with-a-purpose-action entertainment. I'll see that this weekend.

Until then... I've got a date with Mr. Jackman to get to.
