Phil Mickelson almost sinks backwards shot, Blows My Mind in the Process

Wow. I can't begin to explain how blown away I am at this golf shot. I mean, how is this even legal? By the way he explains it, it sounds like he should be scooping it all the way. Still, I don't know how it can do that. Kudos, Mr. Mickelson.

Also, Phil sounds like if he wasn't a pro golfer, he'd make a totally gnarly surfer dude.

Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter Scares the Bejeezus Out of Me

Tim Burton is directing the new Alice in Wonderland. Of course, with it being Tim Burton, 2 things are guaranteed: a very dark, disturbing, twisted representation of reality, and Johnny Depp. I am a huge Depp Fan, stemming as far as a possible man crush, but something about the Carrottop-esque hair, powder white face, and gecko-green eyes hits my uneasy nerve.

Weird.

Ah well, I'll still see it.

Kid Makes 3/4 Court BBall Shot... While Doing a Flip

I don't even know how you could ever possibly come to the realization that you can do this, but props anyway to this kid. I can't even make it from half court, yet he goes and shoots it from the opposite foul line while putting a little sumtin' sumtin' on it. Kudos, kid, although pretty sure this would be traveling in a regulation game.

Help me Donate to the CCFA! and Find a Cure for Crohn's Disease

I am writing to you for a request, sRant readers.

3 years ago, on his 19th birthday, my brother passed away from complications with Crohn's Disease. His friend is taking part in a walk for Crohn's Disease and other gastrointestinal illnesses in New York, and is currently accepting donations towards finding a cure and raising awareness of this debilitating illness.

The walk is called Take Steps, and is sponsored by the Crohns & Colitis Foundation of America. If you guys could spare a few bucks and donate towards the cause, I would really appreciate it, as I know what it's like to personally lose somebody from it, and well.... it sucks. You can even get your company to match your donation, for more.

His donation page can be found here:

Donation & Team Page

For more information on the walk, if you are interested, please check it out here:

About Take Steps

Thanks a bunch for your support!

My Artist of the Moment: Lady GaGa

I am a pretty big fan of music. I am a fan of dancing. So when they come together in sweet, sweet harmony to make a pretty kick-ass dance mix, I'm all about it.

Enter Lady GaGa, who I'm sure you have heard about. But I am just starting to get into her music. She's a pretty good singer, plus the previous song, and also Poker Face, are so damn catchy. I just feel like bustin', poppin', and lockin'. She was just on Dancing with the Stars, and immediately made me pull up her music video.

Enjoy!

Reason #1 Why I'll Never Be an Astronaut

Astronaut Golf I have no clue what the hell they are talking about.

I am watching the live view on NASA TV's Live Feed of the Atlantis shuttle launch, and all is hunky-dory, except for a little bit of an ice buildup on some of the fuel tanks. However, they cut to a guy who started to speak about what additions and fixes would be made to the Hubble telescope (which I thought they were scrapping?), and it made my head practically explode between my headphones.

Apparently some new cameras are going into the Hubble, and the guy showed them. He held them in his hand (which I'm sure cost a hefty price tag) and began speaking of their purposes. I think I got to the third word before I was having a WTF? moment. Something about spectrographs and infrared hooba-habbas and other jib-jab. I also loved how the interviewer just nodded her head, as if what she heard was commonplace.

ANYWAYS, exciting stuff regardless, besides the fact that it takes an hour and change to count down from t-minus 20 minutes. Stupid holds...

Good Tuesday So Far

Good Tuesday You can ask anybody that I know, and they will tell you that I reserve a certain hatred in my heart for Tuesdays. Why Tuesday and not Monday?

Well, that's because Tuesdays are one day removed from the weekend. They are also horrendously far from the weekend, with 4 more days to go. That's a lot. So usually when the second day of the work week rolls around, I am usually finding myself in my worst of moods.

But today has been pretty good. I've spent the day working pretty astutely, getting some documentation done, and listening to Preston and Steve, which makes me laugh a little too out loud. It's ok, tho. And of course, it's Cinco De Mayo!!!! Going to head out after work today maybe, grab some cervezas, and hopefully a nice siesta.
